A message from our Chairman
The problems with getting volunteers…
One of the main challenges in recruiting volunteers is the increasing time constraints people face in their busy lives. Like many individuals, I am juggling work, family, and personal commitments, which makes it difficult to find the extra time needed to dedicate to volunteer work. I know my friends in the village that, even though they are interested in giving back, may struggle to fit volunteer hours into their already packed schedules. As a result, organisations like Duxfest and the DCC face a limited pool of potential volunteers.
Added to this, some people may not fully understand the impact or significance of their volunteer work, leading to a lack of motivation to get involved. Volunteering is often hard work and with a lack of incentive or recognition for volunteers can lead to reduced enthusiasm over time.
Attracting volunteers is a delicate art of creating a compelling and meaningful experience that resonates with potential volunteers’ values and interests. So with that in mind, Duxfest needs you! We are looking for people who will be able to help on the lead up to Duxfest, and on the day. The more successful Duxfest 2025 is, the more money raised, the more fun for the Village and beyond, the more money local charities can tap into. You can volunteer as much or a little as you want. We are a small but fun team and want to organise a fantastic event for Duxfest. I am proud of the events in the past and know that Duxfest 2025 will be one to remember.
If you are interested in getting involved please email Lizzie Hart at Duxfestcelebration@gmail.com or via the Contact Us page on this website.
